100 Artworks on the Theme of Time

100 Kunstwerke zum Thema Zeit [100 Artworks on the Theme of Time] brings together drawings, audio pieces, photographs, textile objects, installations and sculptural figures, films, humorous drawings, large-format paintings and atmospheric poems. These works explore nature and the cosmos in relation to different temporalities, search for the moment through a media-critical lens, reach for lost, past or longed-for time, negotiate biographical moments, tell of birth and the tides, of the present, utopia and farewell, and shed light on our need to measure time. At the heart of this year’s Werkleitz Festival, this large exhibition, spread across three floors, presents an impressive selection of contemporary works from over 300 submissions, in striking contrast to the opulent period architecture of the former department store.
