The photographs show Dieter Johannes Hannisch’s parents, who married in 1943, moved to Halle after the war, and played an active part in the cultural life of the city in their new home. Between the photographs (the bottom one was taken shortly before his father’s death; he passed away on 10 November 1989, the day after the fall of the Berlin Wall) there seems to be a void – the time that has passed, which, looking back, seems to have gone by very quickly.
