Brüten, das ist

Brüten, das ist is a poem that explores the strangely timeless phenomenon of brooding. Brooding is understood as a cyclical principle of life, encompassing pauses, winter dormancy, weariness and the process of dying just as much as budding, blossoming, hatching and flying. The work attempts to devise a form of resistance against the imperatives of acceleration in our ‘time’, and to build on the belief that every living body possesses its own wise, cyclical temporality. The life force that causes the leaf to fall and allows new seeds to sprout – within us too.
