Latent Imaging and Imagining explores chrononormativity (that is, the implications and effects of cisheteronormativity on temporality).
The photo series is based on a selection of childhood photographs. These images were manipulated using a publicly available AI outpainting tool to selectively reinterpret aspects of the artist’s appearance that are typically associated with masculinity. The resulting generated variations – or ‘latent images’ – were printed on Polaroid film.
