Quasi la stessa luna

This work emerges from a prolonged observation of the moon at night. When the gaze remains fixed on an almost immobile image, perception begins to shift: while the body continues to look at the same point in the sky, the mind moves through memories, expectations, and internal images.

In this state of suspension, time no longer appears as a linear sequence, but as an unstable field in which multiple temporalities coexist and overlap.

In the video, the moon appears as a stable reference, yet it is traversed by subtle variations: clouds veil it, its position slightly shifts, and for a brief moment a moon emerges that is almost identical, but not exactly the same. This near-identity introduces a perceptual fracture, in which the present is unsettled without ever fully dissolving.

In this fragile space between one image and another, a form of temporal parallax becomes perceptible: the present is constantly touched by other times, without ever being replaced. Time expands and becomes misaligned, producing a perception in which what is here and now is always, in part, already elsewhere.

Looking thus becomes an experience of duration and instability, in which time does not flow, but accumulates, splits, and deviates.
