The photograph was part of Elias Emtanes’s bachelor’s project in the Communication Design/Photography department at Burg University. It forms part of a photographic body of work centred on the themes of masks, crisis and armour. The work, presented as an exhibition, was also underpinned by a sense of fragility devoid of utopia. Not in a depressive sense, but rather as an expression of current social conditions and how they manifest themselves in urban spaces on a daily basis.
