Gottgewollt is about the Sisters of St Elizabeth. The order was present at the Elisabeth Hospital in Halle until 2021. But the time has come here too, and the sisters who have helped shape the cityscape in recent years are now gone. What remains are Marco Warmuth’s photographs and their stories. Answers to questions such as why they chose a life in the order, and so on. You can find out all this in the book, which is supported by the Art Foundation. But this is not just about faith; above all, it is about the personal stories of the 17 women featured in the book and a way of life that no longer exists in this form today.
