Testblätter zur Belichtungszeit in Abhängigkeit der Wetterverhältnisse

DE

For some time now, Miriam Albert has been exploring the photographic technique of cyanotype and creating direct exposures in sunlight. At first, she found it frustrating when clouds rolled in during the process, significantly reducing the intensity of the light and thus hampering her work. Later, she began to make precisely this the subject of her work, not merely allowing the weather to play a part, but making it the central protagonist: using a screen stencil, she produced a series of graphic prints that depict the light intensities at various levels of cloud cover. Thus, on a fully sunny day in midsummer, it takes only a few seconds to produce visible shades of blue, whereas in heavy cloud cover it takes several hours before anything can be seen on the sheet at all. Despite their strictly conceptual background, the sheets possess a sensuality of their own and can be associated with the sky, the distance, twilight, or a falling curtain.

Series of 10 sheets, cyanotype on paper, each 29.7 x 21 cm, 2024
