European Media Art Platform / European Media Artists in Residence Exchange

The EMARE (European Media Artists in Residence Exchange) residency program was initiated by Werkleitz in 1995. Since then, EMARE has awarded media art scholarships every year with changing project partners in Europe. The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) is a new platform founded in 2017/18 with the support of the EU's Creative Europe Program from the European Media Art Network (EMAN) as a platform for European media art laboratories. Talented European artists are supported through the annual awarding of residency and production grants to 16 partners in Europe.

EMAP supports the research, production, presentation and distribution of media art in Europe. EMARE has been supported by the European Union since 2007. Since 2012, exchanges beyond European borders have also been implemented outside the EU: EMARE MEX (2012-13), EMARE AUS CAN (2014-15).

More information on the program and a complete overview of all scholarship holders at the respective host institutions can be found at emare.eu.
