PMMC

The loss of utopia, neoliberalism, a migration society shaped by globalization processes with a dramatic North-South divide, the self-destructive dynamics of the Anthropocene, the necessary decolonization of the institutions of Old Europe, digitalization, artificial intelligence and media upheavals that permeate every aspect of everyday life and society - all of this calls for a radical questioning of current patterns of action, thought and learning and is an appeal for a new determination of our position. The PMMC offers a place for artistic documentary practice as an autonomous form of joint experimentation, research and thinking: the collective exercise for the emergency of the present.

The PMMC is an extra-occupational or advanced programme for media professionals in Central Germany who want to professionalize their documentary film practice on the one hand and deal collectively and intensively with the burning issues of our time on the other.

Participants work in teams of two to find and develop their own topics, collectively supported by the whole group. As they progress, they put their findings and experiences from the workshops into practice and usually realize a short film production in pairs.
