Florian Fischer
Florian Fischer works at the intersection of photography, film, and curatorial practice.
He studied image sciences, photography, and communication design, and participated in the Professional Media Masterclass at Werkleitz in 2013 and 2015/16.
Fischer was a fellow at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles and took part in Berlinale Talents. He is currently a Research Associate for Film and Video at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. In addition, he serves as a jury member for the German Short Film Award and curates exhibitions and screenings for the Leipzig media art festival PARADOKS as well as the Stuttgart Filmwinter.
For Kaltes Tal, he and Johannes Krell received the German Short Film Award in 2016. In 2019, Fischer and Krell were selected as Supported Artists; their joint production UMBRA (DE, 2019) was awarded the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the 69th Berlinale.
