Marcel Schwierin, born 1965 in Germany. Studied Photography, Filmmaking, Film History, Political Science and Aesthetics. Co-founder of the Werkleitz Biennial and cinovid – internet database for experimental film and video art. Filmmaker (The Images, experimental film, 1994; Eternal Beauty, documentary film, 2003), curator (Werkleitz Biennials, Goethe Institute, Filmfestival Max Ophuels Preis, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen). Artistic director of the Werkleitz Festival Amerika, 2008. Curator film & video of transmediale.10.
