Angelika Richter

Born in 1971 in Dresden, she works as an art historian and curator in Berlin and Halle (Saale). She studied art history, philosophy and German language and literature in Tübingen and Berlin. From 1997 to 2001, she conceived and realised independent exhibition projects as well as video and film presentations in Berlin and within the international art scene. From 2001 to 2003, she worked as International Exhibition Coordinator for the Liverpool Biennial 2002 in the UK. From April 2003 to March 2006, she was Artistic Director and Managing Director of Werkleitz Gesellschaft e.V., the Centre for Visual Media in Saxony-Anhalt, Halle. From 2003 to 2004, Angelika Richter directed the 6th Werkleitz Biennale, ‘Common Property / Allgemeingut’. She contributes to exhibition catalogues and is active as a speaker and on juries.
