Marco Bellonzi & David Casacuberta

Marco Casacuberta is a professor of philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Marco Bellonzi sees himself as an “electronic agitator” with an interest in both art and rights on the World Wide Web. In 1995, Bellonzi & Casacuberta launched the fanzine “Globaldrome”, a pioneering webzine dedicated to digital culture, art on the World Wide Web and rights in cyberspace. In 1996, they became founding members of Electronic Frontiers Spain (FrEE), a leading group in Spain focusing on civil liberties and rights on the internet, such as the right to freedom of expression, information and privacy. Recent work: 1997 to present: Co-editor of the e-zine ‘Globaldrome’ and the newsletter “Cibercultura” (http://www.globaldrome.org) • 1999 ‘Zen Garden’ installation for Net.Condition. Invited artists to the ‘presentation of Syndicate’ at the ZKM. ‘Arte e inteligencia artificial’ at the Taller de Cibercultura y Arte Electrónico (TCAE), University of Málaga. 2000 Lecturer on the ‘Postgraduate Course in Introduction to Contemporary Art’, Autonomous University of Barcelona.
