Dirk Hornschuch

Dirk Hornschuch (born in Bad Langensalza, Thuringia) works at the intersection of photography and moving images, experimenting with animation, montage, movement, and sound. In terms of content, Dirk focuses heavily on the period of reunification and its effects on the present day, rural areas, and the relationship between humans and nature. His work has been shown at the FiSH Film Festival Rostock, Theater Kassel, Open Space Zeitz, Galerie am Volkspark in Halle, and Kulturbahnhof Ottersberg, among others. Dirk gives workshops on animated film for the Altenburg am Meer socio-cultural workshop festival, among others. After various stays in Romania and Hungary between 2014 and 2018, Dirk studied communication design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle/Saale. He is a scholarship holder of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
