Ulrich Ziemons

Ulrich Ziemons is co-director of the Forum Expanded section at the Berlin International Film Festival, alongside Ala Younis.

Since 2006, he has worked as a curator and project manager for the Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art in Berlin, in connection with the Berlinale and other projects. From 2014 to 2020, he was a member of the short film selection committee for the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival. He has curated film programmes for, among others, the Kunstverein Leipzig, the Kochi Muziris Biennale, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, the Bucharest International Experimental Film Festival, as well as for KW – Institute for Contemporary Art and the Berlin Biennale.

In 2014, he published the book “Aufzeichnungen eines Storm Squatters”, a monograph on the Weather Diaries of the American experimental filmmaker George Kuchar.
