Joakim Forsgren

Born in 1981 in Skutskär, studied from 2005 to 2010 at Konstfack in Stockholm, where he currently lives and works as an artist, curator, filmmaker and musician. His works are characterized by a subtle undermining of ideological structures. In recent years, he has initiated a number of curatorial projects together with Mikael Goralski, Felix Gmelin, Merzedes Sturm-Lie and others. He is a founding member of the artist group Serious Collision Investigation Unit Coalition that in 2016 presented the works of 27 artist colleagues at the IX Shiryaevo Biennale of Contemporary Art in Russia. Prior to this he collaborated with Leif Elggren on the projects Det främmande fäderneslandet [The Foreign Fatherland], 2010-2011 and Gravöppning (together with Jan Håfström), 2014, among other projects. Forsgren is a member of the artist group and band Den magiska fyra.
