Bart Rutten
Bart Rutten graduated in 1997 from the Utrecht University in Art History and Humanities. Between 1997 – 2005 he worked for the Netherlands Media Art Institute as collection conservator and head of the presentation department. During that time he published The Magnetic Era, a book on the history of Dutch video, together with Jeroen Boomgaard (University of Amsterdam) and curated several exhibitions and video programmes. From 2005 – 2008 he worked as curator for SM's – Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch where he curated shows as Do The Right Bling, Nederclips, and solo shows with Broersen/Lukacs and Jeroen Kooijmans. Since december 2008 he works as collection curator for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam where he is involved in collection presentation for the reopening in 2010. Rutten publishes regularly in art magazines in the Netherlands and is a guest teacher at the Utrecht University, Design Acadamy and the Sandberg Institute.
