Incision, fracture, caesura - rupture. In this panel, we will explore the relevance of and how to deal with breaks in artistic and cinematic research and work. It is not only life that breaks into film: biographies cannot be told in a linear fashion, stories have loose ends, narratives fray, protagonists break away or break off. Universes need to be broken into. To break down space and time. To process the fractured edges of auditory and visual materials and to master stylistic upheavals - without smoothing them out, because the poetry of the film lies in the fractures and their in-between.
