On Thursday, May 22, the Werkleitz Festival 2025 and the special exhibition Planetary Peasants at the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale) were opened.
After a welcome to the festival in the Zoological Collection of the Zentralmagazin Naturwissenschaftlicher Sammlungen (ZNS), the special exhibition Planetary Peasants was ceremoniously opened in the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in cooperation with the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale). The opening was accompanied by music from sound artist Erwin Stache.
In the evening, the Moritzburg Art Museum Halle (Saale) and Werkleitz invited all interested parties to experience the exhibition and celebrate together with guests and artists. In the inner courtyard, there was live music by the band Backmars and a sky performance by artist Michael Wang, who was involved in the exhibition. The rest of the evening was accompanied by DJ Amuleto Manuela in the Moritzkunstcafé.
The festival's artistic interventions can be seen in the Zoological Collection until June 3. Further programs will take place on the Domplatz and in the Zazie Kino.
The special exhibition at Kunstmuseum Moritzburg Halle (Saale) runs until 14 September 2025 and is accompanied by an eventful program.
