The symposium of the festival took place on 21 October 2013 in the foyer of the Technikhalle at Holzplatz 1. It was introduced by an international panel curated by Stefanie Schulte Strathaus entitled Embodiments - Revisiting Ideas on Politics of Gender on feminist film work from the 1960s to the present. After a break, the lecture by Hannah Sieben and Dieter Daniels opened the open part of the evening with further contributions by Stephen Kovats, Benjamin Meyer-Krahmer and Philipp Oswalt.
Conversations, but also food and drinks at a long table offered the opportunity for mental and physical refreshment, in the spirit of an ancient Greek symposium. The aim was to create a moment of debate in which curators, artists, invited guests and the audience can further develop the ideas from the exhibition course, film and performance programme. The open format of the symposium also served to discuss the significance of utopias today.
