Torsten Thiele

Torsten Thiele, born in Görlitz, studied fine art at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. He worked at the German National Theatre in Weimar in the stage and costume department and works as a stage designer and freelance artist. In his artistic practice, he deals with social conflicts in German remembrance culture. Within art-in-architecture competitions, he develops artistic solutions for built historical heritage and its histories of violence. His work focuses on participatory approaches (community art) that use experimental methods and follow a diversity-sensitive and intersectional approach.
