Paul Lissner
Paul Lissner, born in Chemnitz, became acquainted with moving image production at the Chemnitz Film Workshop, primarily through music videos. He then trained as a media designer and conducted his first experiments combining sound and image. He later moved to Leipzig to study philosophy and cultural studies, with stays in Ireland, Canada and Japan. One of his academic focuses is the critical examination of the role of music and film in society, as well as studies of old and current avant-garde movements. He then obtained a diploma in audio engineering at SAE Leipzig with a focus on film sound. In his artistic practice, he concentrates on collective processes and productions and the joint search for adequate forms and content for a contemporary aesthetic of resistance.
