Illusionen

While, in the summer of 1989, thousands of refugees were seeking a route to the West, the MfS used its power over isolated individuals who had returned from there to obtain forced statements for use as propaganda to destroy the “illusions” of GDR citizens who wished to flee the country. The Film Studio for Agitation evidently had a public broadcast in mind and therefore developed its first own TV-style format, including a presenter, as a propagandistic framework for the interviews. It is not known whether or where this video may have been shown.
