Gift

As a preview of the upcoming Werkleitz Festival 2022 Mehr oder Weniger (September 15–18), we will be screening the short film Gift in the media library throughout August.

The musical short film Gift was shot in the Wolfen-Bitterfeld region, the birthplace of composer Ulf Langheinrich. What is striking today is the lunar landscape left behind by open-pit lignite mining and the chemical industry. Although most of this is now a thing of the past, monstrous excavators—most of them technically obsolete—continue their work in isolated locations. (MetaMedia Productions Ltd. 1996)
