We are delighted that Viktor Brim's work the dark goes much further than how it appears is represented in the VIDEOART category at this year's FILE - Electronic Language International Festival in São Paulo, Brazil. the dark goes much further than how it appears was originally produced under the title Geontopower for the Werkleitz Festival 2022 Mehr oder Weniger. In this series of works, Brim investigates aspects of Mansfeld copper slag, such as its materiality, flow state, texture and form, by scanning and reanimating slag stones on the slag heaps in Mansfeld Land using photogrammetry. The slag consists, among other things, of silicon, calcium and aluminium oxides as well as the radioactive substances radium, thorium and potassium. It is the product of both geological and synthetic processes, which are reflected in its form.
