Umbruch im Film [Upheaval in film]

From 5 to 7 December 2022, Umbruch im Film [Upheaval in film], an industry meeting for the professionalisation and networking of filmmakers, film producers, film festival organisers and film curators, presented by the Werkleitz Gesellschaft, will take place in Halle. The focus of Umbruch im Film [Upheaval in film] is on films that address current social upheavals such as deindustrialisation and structural change in rural areas and post-mining landscapes.
The programme is divided into two formats. During the day, in the Literaturhaus Halle, two panels aimed at a specialist audience will discuss different content-related and methodological/technical topics in a closed setting. The evening programme at Kino Zazie is open to a broad cinema audience. Here, too, filmmakers are invited to talk to the audience about their films presented in the programme. Admission is free on all evenings.

Umbruch im Film [Upheaval in film] is documented by edited live recordings of the panels, individual lectures as video contributions and podcasts, also available on Spotify, Apple Music and Stitcher.
