Binha Haase

de

Binha* Haase’s work focuses on video art and film. As a classically trained musician, sound and musical compositions play an important role both as a means of expression and within a socio-political context. In terms of content, Binha frequently addresses the lived realities of FLINTA from a queer-feminist perspective, with a particular focus on voice and body, as seen in the film works “lamento,” “en travesti,” and “#popfem.” Binha’s works have been shown at venues including the EMAF, the Kunstmuseum Luzern, the Halle Opera, and the C.A.R., and have been honored with the soundzz.z.zzz…z Prize 2016 (Kunstmuseum Luzern), the Kranichstein Music Prize 2018 (International Summer Courses for New Music Darmstadt), and a special mention in the 2021 Saalesparkasse Art Prize. Binha has received grants from the Berlin Academy of Arts and the Bonn Art Fund, among others. Binha studied music at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and time-based arts at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.
