NOBODY IS AN ISLAND

Accompanying the exhibition Solid Waves, Florian Fischer curates the film program NOBODY IS AN ISLAND.

The evening opens at 6:00 pm with a collective look into the magazine Planetary Farmers, produced in connection with the special exhibition of the same name in summer 2025 and closely linked thematically to the film program.
Starting at 7:00 pm, the film selection explores the condition of the planet—on both global and molecular scales. Materialist and mythological perspectives intertwine: glaciers retreat, uncovering land for cultivation; seas swallow islands once charted on maps; healing stones and crystals ease anxieties—and fuel new dreams of resource extraction.

Three films will be screened, followed by a conversation with filmmaker Anja Dornieden (Instant Life), member of the artist duo Ojoboca.
