A38 Stipendium
Media
The title ‘A38’ refers to the lengthy but successful expansion of the A38 motorway - a structurally important urban link between East and West.
The grant is awarded by the co-operation partners Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest, Werkleitz, the State Media Authority of Saxony-Anhalt and the Hessian Regulatory Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media.
Application
The traditional A38 Production Scholarship Kassel-Halle has finally built a bridge to the young audience. The scholarship is awarded annually as a prize for a work submitted to the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival. The festival's selection committee nominates 16 works, primarily from the young documentary festival programme. Three young people are represented on the award jury. The aim of the scholarship is to promote young artistic film and media talent and at the same time to bring documentary film to a young audience. All deadlines, forms and conditions of participation can be obtained from the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival.
Prize and scholarship
The approximately two-month scholarship is endowed with up to €3,000 for living expenses and up to €1,000 for travelling expenses. This is to be used to prepare or realise a new artistic work in the following year. For the production of an audiovisual work at Werkleitz, the award winner will receive up to €4,000 in the form of modern HD production equipment as well as the corresponding technical support and logistical advice. The scholarship holder is free to choose the subject of their work, although the new film should be of particular interest to and inspire a young audience.
