Riccarda Cappeller
Raised in Halle/S., she works as a freelance author and, since 2018, as a research assistant for architecture and urban planning at Leibniz University Hannover, where she completed her doctorate in 2024 on the topic of ‘Cooperative Architecture.’ She previously studied architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar with stays abroad at ETSAM Madrid and UBA Buenos Aires, and visual sociology at Goldsmith University London. Her work focuses on artistic methods, documentary formats and urban space as a field of experimentation. The focus is on the interface between social issues, societal processes and the development of interdisciplinary perspectives on spatial situations and forms of repurposing. Participation in group exhibitions with audio-visual formats, e.g. at the Centre for Documentary Architecture (CDG) in Weimar and with ‘Urbiquity’ in Madrid, as well as cooperation with Exyzt /Constructlab for installations in public spaces, e.g. at the IBA Thüringen. 2020-22 Conception and curation of the projects Denkstuben and Fenster zur Stadt, funded by the Beisheim Foundation and the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation.
