Anne Scheschonk studied music and media studies as well as ethnology with a focus on visual anthropology. In 2011, she completed the Professional Media Master Class (PMMC) for documentary film in Halle (Saale). Today, she works as a freelance author for television and realises her own film projects as a filmmaker. Her documentary work focuses on people who are perceived as different and therefore often burdened with social stigma: the mentally disabled mother, the transgender child... Her documentary film ‘Mädchenseele’ (Girl's Soul, 37 min., 2017) is currently being screened at international festivals and won the Social Impact Media Award for Best Short Documentary, among others. Anne Scheschonk lives with her son in Halle (Saale).
