Alexandra Gerbaulet
Born in 1977, artist and filmmaker, lives in Berlin. Between 2008 and 2014, she taught at the Braunschweig University of Art and the Kassel Art Academy. From 2017 to 2018, she was a mentor at the Berlinale Talents Short Film Station. Since 2014, she has been working as a writer and producer at the production company pong film in Berlin. Since then, she has released three successful short films, which have been screened at festivals worldwide and have won several awards: SCHICHT (2015), TIEFENSCHÄRFE (2017, together with Mareike Bernien) and her current short film DIE SCHLÄFERIN (2018), which premiered at the Forum Expanded of the 68th Berlinale. In addition to making her own films, she has also worked at pong film on the production of the documentary AND-EK GHES... (2016, directed by Philip Scheffner and Colorado Velcu) and the web series KINSHASA COLLECTION (2017, directed by Dorothee Wenner) at pong film, as well as completing Khaled Abdulwahed's short film BACKYARD (2018). She is currently developing and producing Amel Alzakout and Khaled Abdulwahed's latest feature film PURPLE SEA together with Ines Meier.
