Staged Reading with Residents of Sandersleben, Wiederstedt, and Hettstedt

Since November 2022, Stephanie Kiwitt has been conducting interviews with residents of Sandersleben. The conversations explore people's relationship to the place they live, the atmosphere in the town, current developments, and opportunities for civic participation. What stories, emotions, and hopes do people associate with the town today? What thoughts about its future are on their minds?
These interviews form the basis of the performance text S. Anders leben. Eine Handlung in Gesprächen. The piece has been read by residents of Sandersleben and neighboring communities in Wiederstedt, Köthen, and most recently, in February 2025, at the gymnasium of the Sandersleben Elementary School.
Following additional interviews conducted during the winter and spring of 2025–26, the piece has been updated with new chapters and will now be presented as an open-air performance in Sandersleben.
The reading will take place on August 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the Town Hall, Schlossstraße 1, Sandersleben.
