Anna Bungenberg’s work is rather understated and serene; for it consists solely of tiny dots, combined with a great deal of time. A surface, a fountain pen, thousands of dots, 1,342 minutes, 22.5 hours. Meditation. Time and again, incremental progress, patience and plenty of time ultimately led to the final result. A work which, in the artist’s view, is not only fitting for the theme of time, but also for resilience, which she continually seeks to strengthen through her artistic practice. And that, in the fast-paced world of today, we should constantly remind ourselves that time cannot be reclaimed. It simply passes. And we ourselves decide how we fill that time, what we leave behind in the end, and which moments we will ultimately cherish.
