Jenny Kästner was born in Wippra and feels so at home there that she has only ever left her hometown once, to complete her training as a pastry chef. She returned soon afterwards and has been working ever since at the ‘Mühlen-Café’, which is run by her parents.
There, her particular passion lies in creating delicious cakes every day. However, Jenny’s artistic potential is far from exhausted, which is why she also makes music – as a guitarist and singer in the Irish folk band ‘Worrystone’.
And so, in this episode, we talk about a happy childhood, in which the nearby forest held countless adventures and her parents’ independence meant plenty of freedom – except when it came to guitar lessons.
A fortunate circumstance, as it later transpired, when Jenny Kästner talks about the significance of music in her life.
Furthermore, we look at the changes and developments that have taken place around Wippra over the past decades and learn why a stable family environment is, when all is said and done, more important than life in the big city.
