Many online projects incorporate elements of oral history, eyewitness accounts and interviews. These recordings are made during ‘fieldwork’ – often whilst the research is still underway – rather than in a traditional recording situation with a full film crew on site. The workshop therefore focuses on the use of audio technology and digitisation that authors can learn and use, yet which is still suitable for professional playback, e.g. specialist apps or clip-on microphones for the iPhone.
