Halmaspiel

The artist Betina Kuntzsch dedicates this film collage to her mother. A mother who was many things in her life: a passionate Chinese pen player, but also a fashion designer in the GDR. As a child she lived during the Nazi era, as a teenager she came of age in post-war Germany, as an adult she lived her life in the GDR and finally grew old in unified Germany. A simultaneously personal and political story of escape and adaptation, playing along and doubting.
