In celebration of the Supported Artist title, Werkleitz is happy to present one of Susann Maria Hempel's short films in our Videorama series. The Flies (The Birds II) is a tribute to Oskar Sala, a pioneer for electronic music who was also born in Greiz. Sala was especially famous for his experimental sound design of Hitchcock’s masterpiece The Birds (US, 1963).
In Susann Maria Hempel’s imaginary title sequence sequel it is the flies that are dancing to Sala’s music against the backdrop of Hempel’s house.
