Rovin lives on a rural farm near the Baltic Sea. Curious about the world around him, the boy is interested in everything—mosses, fire, stars, tardigrades, and the vastness of the universe. Maria studies the stones on the beach near her home, tracing the time contained within them, while Christopher hauls large boulders up a nearby hill, creating spaces of his own. All three are searching for something. With great calm and a palpable delight in discovering images, Ann Carolin Renninger films these three individuals and, almost inadvertently, brings into view something that usually resists representation: the fleeting moment of the here and now—the present.
