Artist Talk mit Agnieszka Polska

In The Demon's Brain, a multi-channel video installation exhibited at Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart - Berlin and elsewhere, Agnieszka Polska explores the ethical question of how the individual can assume social responsibility in the midst of the overwhelming demands of the present. The starting point of the work is a collection of fifteenth-century letters to Mikołaj Serafin, the administrator of the Polish salt mines. In her videos, Polska combines live action with animation to tell the story of a young messenger who is supposed to deliver these letters on a horse. Anne-Christin Bielig talks to Agnieszka Polska about The Demon's Brain. Alexander Klose, one of the two artistic directors of the festival, translates and comments.
