Arbeit mit Protagonist:innen in der dokumentarischen Praxis

Whether fictional, observational documentary or investigative, whether political, autobiographical, experimental or poetic: a large part of filmmaking involves encountering and engaging with people who become film characters, protagonists or interviewees. This workshop explores the questions that arise when a person is placed in front of a camera. This will be explored through film screenings, discussions and practical camera experiments.

Some key terms: desire, ethics, identification/misidentification, agency, power, collaboration, projection, authenticity, translation, preconceptions, expectation and framing.
