Cornelia Sollfrank
Cornelia Sollfrank (Hamburg/Berlin) is an artist whose central concerns include the evolving image of the artist in the information age, new forms of art education, gender-specific approaches to new technologies, and communication and networking as art. She was a member of the women artists’ groups “frauen-und-technik” and “Innen” and initiated the first cyberfeminist alliance “Old Boys Network” (http://www.obn.org). With her project “Female Extension” (http://www.artwarez.org/femext/), she successfully “hacked” the first net art competition organized by a museum by flooding the competition with 300 virtual net artists. She published the readers for “First Cyberfeminist International” (1988) and “Next Cyberfeminist International” (1999) (http://www.obn.org/inhalt_index.html). Cornelia Sollfrank is currently working on the topic of “female hackers.”
