Call: Artworks on the Theme of Time

OPEN CALL: Extended until March 31

Over the next four years (2026–2029), Werkleitz will devote itself to the complexity of time.
We aim to explore attempts at slowing down, generational conflicts, prehistoric and primeval times, as well as future futures—artistically, discursively, through excursions, and through creative participatory formats.

For the 2026 Werkleitz Festival Früher oder Später [Sooner or Later], we launched a statewide call to artists, art associations, off-spaces, amateurs, and professionals in search of artworks on the theme of time. This collection will be presented as a major exhibition during the festival.

We have now also received some interesting submissions from artists who do not live in Saxony-Anhalt. We would like to consider these and at the same time give other artists from outside the state the opportunity to submit a work of art on the theme of time. The state restriction has therefore been lifted and the submission deadline extended to March 31. Up to one hundred works will be presented in July.

An expense allowance of 100 euros is provided for exhibiting images, textiles, poetry, films, and artistic objects. Upon request, works may be offered for sale within the exhibition.
