Conversation on walking as artistic research—between everyday life, appropriation, and chance

What happens when we don’t just use the city, but actively and consciously perceive it? Between habit and chance, (ab)schweifen opens up new perspectives on urban space. Why does the city look the way it does? Who shapes it—and who does not? Building on the experience of a prototypical urban exploration, we will discuss the transformative potential of (ab)schweifen together with Kathrin Gölz, Lisa Herbst (Schweiferei), and Nora Küttel (University of Bremen). What impulses can artistic research, collective urban experiences, and new forms of perception offer for a more (intergenerationally) just and mindful urban development? How can we rethink the city—and above all: make it together?

On the occasion of the Long Night of Sciences, we warmly invite all interested participants to join us on a prototypical urban exploration and to take part in the subsequent workshop discussion.
