Sebastian Herzfeld - Performance

In his performance Tank oder Teller at the opening of the Werkleitz Festival 2024, Sebastian Herzfeld improvises on three musical themes. Within this musical framework, the musician and composer moves freely, playing two percussion instruments made of metal that he developed himself – and which were built by metal designer Felix Müller – as well as an electric bass with a distortion pedal, a harmonium and a melodica. With the aid of a loop delay, multiple tracks can be played over one another, creating a rhythmic-melodic flow comprising variations on the musical themes and entirely free sections without fixed rhythms.
