NEU in der Bonifatiuskirche Vatterode

Bonifatius Church in Vatterode is the third stop on the travelling exhibition NEU. The opening will take place on Sunday, 10 September from 11:00 to 17:00. As previously at the Summa Passage in Hettstedt and the Schneider car dealership in Helbra, Werkleitz presents new and fresh perspectives on the Mansfeld region. Photographers and designers from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle have reimagined the landscape through photography, audio and film. The starting point for the artistic works are photographs by Wieland Krause, who documented the dismantling of the August-Bebel-Hütte in Helbra in Spuren_Mansfeld in 1993. Krause himself also returned to the region thirty years later and is presenting his sound collage Ton_Spuren as part of the exhibition.

The travelling exhibition can be viewed until Sunday, 17 September, Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 17:00. The subsequent and final venue is Sandersleben Town Hall (7–14 October).

NEW is a collaboration between the project “Glück Auf! Wohin? – Mansfeld-Südharz findet sich neu” by Erlebniswelt Museen e.V. and Werkleitz Gesellschaft e.V.
