Molmecker

What is life like in Molmeck? How do the people shape this district of Hettstedt, their street? Did they move here because they really wanted to, have they never left, or have they returned? These questions form the starting point for the first Springschool 2021 in Molmeck (Hettstedt). By applying the method of landscape communication, we learn to understand and describe the landscape from the perspective of its inhabitants. In doing so, we make use of the tools of text and photography. The findings, which emerged during the discussions and were presented publicly in Kurt’s garage in Hettstedt, are summarised in the booklet Molmecker.
Participants included students of ethnology and geography from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, as well as students of communication design from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. Their research is supervised by Lars Fischer, Office for Landscape Communication Eberswalde, and supported by Jonathan Everts, Human Geography, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, and Stephanie Kiwitt, Photography/Communication Design, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.
