Belief in Transition

How has the topos of belief changed in the Post-Communist countries in Europe within the process of political transition and neo-liberal dystopia? How is the discussion of secularisation developing in these regards in the New Europe? How are the tendencies indicating individualism and fundamentalism in this context?

These two developments combined with a renewed discussion of the project of secularisation can be traced to different degree all over Europe, yet they cannot be observed separately from a global context. If belief is individualized (as in the western countries), it is at the same time also being instrumentalized for political purposes as we see in regards of the discourse and effects of fundamentalisms. Where to go if not in the 'multiculti'-trap?
