Another focus of film education is on our partner country Poland. Since the 1950s, with the founding of the Warsaw Documentary Film Studio, documentary film has played an increasingly important role in Poland. In addition, until the 1980s, there was a tradition of showing a documentary film in cinemas before the main feature. In the post-war period, Polish directors such as Jerzy Bossak and Kazimierz Karabasz also had a significant influence on the international documentary film scene. In the 1970s, Krzysztof Kieślowski, who trained in Łódź, was also one of the greats of documentary film before achieving world fame as a feature film director. A lecturer from the Łódź Film School will present Poland's media landscape and existing production models, from the Polish pioneers to more recent Polish productions.
